Tbilisi – Kakheti – Sighnaghi

Meetings with local guide in a hotel lobby and depart to Kakheti province located in the East side of the country. The region distinguishes by its climate and fertile soil, that play an important role in cultivation grapes and vine. The first stop will be in the most remarkable and picturesque hilltop town of Sighnaghi, situated in the very heart of Georgia’s wine growing region, with pastel houses and narrow cobblestone streets overlooking the vast Alazani Valley and Caucasus Mountains.

Lunch. Here we will be able to taste different kinds of wine.
Masterclasses of Churchkhela and Georgian bread  “shoti” making.

Overnight in Sighnaghi.

Sighnaghi – Tsinandali – Telavi

Breakfast at the hotel.

After about an hour trip we will stop in Tsinandali Park. Cultural center and the house-museum of the poet and public figure Al. Chavchavadze, wine tasting in the oldest enoteca.

Lunch in a local “Matsoni House”. Here we can taste local wine with some cheease and snack.

Drive back to Telavi.

Have a short walk through the charming streets of old Telavi, stop at the monument to Erekle ll.

Telavi – Nafareuli – Kvareli

Our day starts with Gremi fortress. It was main city of Kakheti region, nowdays location of the fortress with tall bell tower and high walls makes deep impression on the guests.

Continue with rout to Nafareuli.

Visit Twins winery for  tour in winery. You will be able to see whole proses of wine making. Take part in grape harvest “Rtveli”, press of grapes by yourself (if the season permits) tasting different sorts of wine: Saperavi, Kisi,  Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli.

Lunch.

Continue to Kvareli for visit to one of the most interesting wineries “Khareba’s Gvirabi” (the Tunnel).

Transfer to the hotel.

Overnight in Kvareli.

Kvareli – Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Chateau Mukhrani – Tbilisi

Breakfast at the hotel.

Then drive to Mtskheta and see its historical places: Jvari Monastery (6th) and Svetitskoveli Cathedral (11th) which is known as a place where Christ’s robe was buried. Walk along the narrow streets of Mtskheta with souvenir shopping possibility.

Lunch.

Continue route to Chateau Mukhrani Winery. Wine tour in Chateau includes visit to famous vineyards, Ivane Mukranbatoni Palace, stables and cellars. Professional consultant will give detailed information about Chateau wines producing technology and exclusivity. The lecture will be accompanied with tasting of three sorts of Chateau premium wines.

Meeting with local guide in a hotel lobby and start a day with Tbilisi city sightseeing tour combined with visit to few more wine and spirit factories.

10:30 – visit Guramishvili’s Marani (Wine cellar),. High technology equipped grape reprocessing store, degustation hall and other items of infrastructure in the surrounding area of the cellar with oldest items of the Georgian cultural heritage are very interesting for the visitors.  Professional visit includes tasting three sorts of wine and culinary master class in making Churchkhela (Georgian sweet from grapevine and  walnuts ), Georgian bread – shoti baking and khinkali cooking

Lunch.

Tour will continue with a professional visit to Sarajishvili Brandy Factory which was established in 19th c. by David Sarajishvili, whose biggest will and tireless effort resulted in creating the first Georgian wine brand.
